payer

Payer est un verbe transitif qui se construit avec un complément d’objet direct. On peut donc payer quelque chose, payer quelqu’un ou payer quelque chose à quelqu’un :

• payer ses impôts
• payer les ouvriers à la fin du mois
• payer la tournée à ses invités

De plus, on dit :

• payer un chandail cent dollars (et non : payer cent dollars pour un chandail)

Dans cette phrase, cent dollars est un complément circonstanciel.
