L'International Monetary Market avait été créé le 16 mai 1972, en tant qu'entité indépendante, par le Chicago Mercantile Exchange afin de négocier les premiers contrats à terme de devises qui venaient d'être créés : livre sterling, dollar canadien, mark allemand, florin, franc français, peso américain, yen japonais et franc suisse. L'International Monetary Market avait par la suite diversifié ses activités en ajoutant des contrats à terme sur les Bons du Trésor à 90 jours et à 1 an, sur les pièces d'argent et sur l'or. En novembre 1975, le Chicago Mercantile Exchange a décidé d'absorber l'International Monetary Market et de l'ériger en division spécialisée dans les transactions de titres financiers et de métaux précieux. 4, record 1, French, - International%20Monetary%20Market
