Internal jugular vein. The IJV is the main venous structure in the neck. It originates as a continuation of the S-shaped sigmoid(dural venous) sinus. Sclerotherapy effectively treats varicose and spider veins. It's often considered the treatment of choice for small varicose veins. Sclerotherapy involves injecting a solution directly into the vein. The sclerotherapy solution causes the vein to scar, forcing blood to reroute through healthier veins. The collapsed vein is reabsorbed into local tissue and eventually fades. 3, record 28, English, - sclerotherapy

Regression of a corpus luteum. Two factors appear to be involved in luteolysis in most domestic animals; one being prostaglandin F2a and the other being follicular oestrogen synthesis. It has been suggested that PGF2a is the normal luteolytic compound, and that it is transferred from the non-gravid uterus to the ovary by some form of counter-current distribution between the uterine vein and ovarian artery. While the actual route for PGF2a transfer is in some doubt its physiological role is certain. 2, record 34, English, - luteolysis

A number of procedures for inducing luteolysis in domestic animals have been used.
