Multiple null states. A facility that allows user definitions for an arbitrary number of application specific Null values, such as "Unknown", "Missing", "Not Applicable", "Pending", etc. Each such Null value would have a different representation in the database so that they could be distinguished by query expressions during retrieval or update.
