This study presents a novel expert-based approach to assess the quality of ongoing spoken dialog system (SDS) interactions. We call this approach "interaction quality" (IQ). It is an objective measure which relies on statistical classification with support vector machines (SVMs). We compare objective expert IQ annotations of ongoing SDS interactions with subjective user satisfaction (US) ratings and show that IQ and US correlate ( ρ = . 66 ). 1, record 2, English, - interaction%20quality

... what makes some extratropical cyclones produce catastrophically damaging winds. ... [Keith Browning and Pete Clark] have identified a mesoscale flow which they call the Sting Jet. It originates in the cloud head of a rapidly deepening cyclone and gathers speed as it descends towards the tip of the cloud head when it begins to hook around the cyclone centre ... The Sting Jet was first identified observationally from a reanalysis of the Great Storm of October 1987 where the damaging winds were shown to be emanating from the evaporating tip of the hooked cloud head. It has since been reproduced in high-resolution runs with the mesoscale version of the Unified Model. The Sting Jet is distinct from the usual strong-wind region associated with the warm conveyor belt and main cold front. There are indications that conditional symmetric instability and evaporation both play a role in its formation but the importance of these processes remains to be quantified. 4, record 7, English, - sting%20jet

Sting jets occur in cyclones when there is a dramatic fall in the barometric pressure. ... The sting jet is born at an altitude of three miles, within layers of ascending moist air.

5, record 11, French, - boson%20interm%C3%A9diaire%20Z%C2%B0

The concept of governance has increasingly become an important concept for social and political thought as well as an influential idea in broader public debates about social and political issues. In its broadest sense, the study of governance examines human interaction and its coordination, in and between organizations and communities. It asks what forms, processes and mechanisms of governance are, as well as what they should be. Created in 1997 at the University of Ottawa by Professor Gilles Paquet at a time when these debates had barely begun, the Centre on Governance is now a part of the School of Political Studies, in the Faculty of Social Sciences, and in partnership with the School of Management. 1, record 18, English, - Centre%20on%20Governance

1, record 18, French, - Centre%20d%26rsquo%3B%C3%A9tudes%20en%20gouvernance

The word "endogenous" was originally a botanical term ... Endogenous means originating on or growing within the side of something, as cells within the wall of the parent cell ... That's a good metaphor for economic or technological growth -- exogenous growth is growing like rings on a tree -- definitely not how an economy grows, or innovations develop. It's a view of society as a giant organism within which innovations develop randomly and irregularly, not in any planned manner. In social science the study of groups is often called "small-group research." A "group" is defined as a number of persons, or members, each of whom, while the group is meeting, interacts with every other or is able to do so, or can at least take personal cognizance of every other. This requirement, which cannot be met for larger social units, such as armies, justifies calling groups "small". 1, record 37, English, - small%2Dgroup%20research
