If the gyroscope were a perfect instrument, it would be possible to determine the position of a satellite or a space vehicle with respect to its own fixed axes. But a gyroscope precesses... A very good gyroscope only precesses a few thousandths of a degree of arc in an hour, but at the end of a week the error is about one degree and it is twenty-five degrees at the end of six months. 3, record 1, English, - arc%20degree
