Since 1982 the Hurons who still practice hunting, trapping and fishing activities belong to the Association of Huron Hunters, Trappers and Fishermen. Numbering some 200 members, this Association has set itself two priority mandates: first negotiate to acquire specific hunting and fishing rights, and then institute the necessary procedures for obtaining the retrocession of lands which were historically part of the Huron nation's territory.

Depuis 1982, les Hurons, qui pratiquent toujours la chasse, la piégeage et la pêche, font partie de l'Association des chasseurs, trappeurs et pêcheurs hurons. Avec quelque 200 membres, cette association s'est fixé deux mandats prioritaires : d'abord négocier l'obtention de droits spécifiques de chasse et de pêche, puis entamer les procédures nécessaires afin d'obtenir la rétrocession de territoires faisant historiquement partie des lieux de séjour de la nation huronne.
