Ce tribunal administratif a été créé le 1er avril 1998 par l'adoption de la Loi instituant la Commission des lésions professionnelles et modifiant diverses dispositions législatives, en remplacement de la Commission d'appel en matière de lésions professionnelles qui avait été établie le 28 mai 1985.
