Nota : Exemple - Lorsqu'un client veut encaisser à sa banque (disons Banque Royale) un chèque tiré sur une autre banque (Banque Nationale), il doit s'attendre à deux choses: a) que son chèque soit versé à son compte sans qu'il puisse toucher les fonds lesquels ne seront disponibles que lorsque le chèque aura été honoré par la banque d'origine (Banque Nationale); b) que son chèque soit versé à son compte et crédité sur-le-champ s'il (le client) est disposé à payer une commission (1/4 de 1% généralement) à la banque pour ce faire.
