Since a globular protein has its atoms packed close together, the atomic fluctuations are restricted. Record number: 5, Textual support number: 1 OBS
The first step toward understanding the role of atomic fluctuations in protein function is to determine the nature of the fluctuations themselves. This includes the study of their magnitude(how large they are), their probability(how often they occur) and their time scale(how long they take). The most direct approach to protein dynamics is to treat each atom in the protein as a particle responding to forces in the way prescribed by Newtonian physics, in accord with Newton's equations of motion. 3, record 5, English, - atomic%20fluctuation

1, record 14, French, - th%C3%A9orie%20de%20la%20matrice%20R

[Shells] constitute a number of principal quantum paths representing successively higher energy levels. There may be from 1 to 7 shells, depending on the atomic number of the element and corresponding to the 7 periods of the Periodic Table. The shells are usually designated by number, though letter symbols have been used, i. e., K... Q. The laws of physics limit the number of electrons in the various shells as follows : 2 in the first(K), 8 in the second(L), 18 in the third(M), and 32 in the fourth(N). With the exception of hydrogen and helium, each shell contains two or more orbitals, each of which is capable of holding a maximum of 2 electrons. 3, record 16, English, - shell

The Atomic Clock Ensemble in Space (ACES) is a programme to test the performance of a new type of clock that exploits and depends upon microgravity conditions. It consists of four key elements: a laser-cooled atomic clock; a hydrogen maser; a laser link for optical transfer of time and frequency; a microwave link for transfer of time and frequency. 2, record 18, English, - atomic%20clock%20ensemble%20in%20space

The atomic clock experiments are expected to improve the accuracy by a factor of 100 as compared to terrestrial atomic clocks. The ultra-precise time measurement will promote relativistic measurements and tests, and applications in atmospheric physics, geodesy, navigation and advanced telecommunications, as well as serve as a universal time and frequency reference from space. 3, record 18, English, - atomic%20clock%20ensemble%20in%20space

The principle of operation for the active hydrogen maser is based upon a 5 MHz quartz crystal oscillator, phase locked to the hyperfine transition of the hydrogen atom. The atomic hydrogen signal generated within the physics package is then picked up by an antenna in the cavity and coupled to the synchronization unit, which synchronizes the 5 MHz crystal oscillator signal phase to the hydrogen signal phase producing the 5 MHz and 100 MHz spectrally pure sine-wave signal output. 2, record 19, English, - active%20hydrogen%20maser
