A miniature computer chip senses the temperature and humidity in the snow as you ski, and continually adjusts the electric field to give you the best glide possible.

NOTwax, unlike other fluorocarbons, is totally inert and won’t stick to anything. So how does it stay on ski and snowboard bases? Extruded and sintered bases are essentially solid. They have no porosity except at a molecular level, but will absorb small amounts of certain liquids(such as solvents). Sintered bases are more amorphous(less crystalline) and have more ability to absorb than extruded bases. Ordinary waxes and base preparations rely on surface bonding and can’t soak in more than a few microns. But NOTwax has such low viscosity and low surface tension that it will penetrate deeply into sintered bases. It stays there by capillary attraction(like water in a sponge) until the base contacts snow(or another solid surface). The wicking action of snow against the base is stronger than the capillary attraction of the base to lubricate the surface. The result is that you feel like you are riding on ball bearings.

A pulley elbow is a device that contains a ball bearing sheave (pulley) which guides stainless steel cable 90 degrees around the sheave. It is defined as a device used to change direction for stainless steel wire cable, which is housed in conduit and is used to connect to a cable operated manual pull station, a mechanical gas valve, and/or the fusible link detection, from the Ansul AUTOMAN Regulated Release Mechanism. It is used because bending conduit results in too much friction loss in the movement of the cable in the conduit. There are two types of pulley elbows. Part No. 415670 has socket ends with set screws for ½ in. conduit, and Part No. 423250 has compression ring ends also for ½ in. conduit. The double row angular contact ball bearing has similar characteristics to two single row angular contact ball bearings arranged back-to-back, but its width is less than that of the two single row bearings. It is suitable for carrying axial loads in either direction and can also accommodate tilting moments acting in an axial plane.
