The Internal Control Division is responsible for overseeing the design and maintenance of an effective and integrated system of internal control over financial reporting. In doing so, the Division supports the Deputy Minister in his role of Accounting Officer by providing reasonable assurance that the effectiveness of the system of internal control is monitored across the Department and that weaknesses are identified and addressed. The Division also acts as liaison between the Chief Financial Officer Branch and the Audit and Accountability Bureau and the Office of the Auditor General for audits related to the Branch.

La Division du contrôle interne est responsable de la surveillance de la conception et de la maintenance d'un système de contrôle interne efficace et intégré exercé sur les rapports financiers. Ainsi, la Division appuie le sous-ministre dans son rôle d'administrateur de comptes en fournissant l'assurance raisonnable que l'efficacité du système de contrôle interne est surveillée à l'échelle du ministère et que les points faibles sont isolés et abordés. La Division agit à titre d'agent de liaison avec la Direction générale du contrôleur ministériel et le Bureau de la vérification et de la responsabilisation et le Bureau du vérificateur général pour les vérifications rattachées à la Direction générale.
