The doors are removable units which permit access to the fuselage or compartments within the fuselage by passengers, crew, or maintenance personnel. The doors are categorized according to function :passenger/crew doors, emergency exit doors, cargo doors, service doors, fixed interior doors, landing gear doors. A door warning system indicates to the flight crew that all doors are closed and latched.

Aircraft had [the] following outstanding maintenance carry overs -- altitude alert system, captain’s indicator out, left elevator position indicator inoperative, aft airstair compartment service light system pops circuit breaker, right gear door indicator inoperative.

An airstair is a passenger staircase that is built in to an airliner-often, though not always, on the inside of a clamshell-style door. The stairs can be raised or lowered while the aircraft is on the ground, allowing passengers and ground personnel to board or depart the aircraft without the need for a mobile staircase or a jetway.... The most unusual airstair design was found on the Lockheed L-1011, which was a full-height airstair which was stored in a cargo compartment and allowed access from the right aft passenger door to the ground.

Sometime at the beginning of May, you will see... in Dorval and Toronto airports... a new ticketing machine. Four units will be installed on a trial basis... The Agent Supported Ticketing Air Canada(ASTAC) system allows passengers, who are enRoute credit card holders, to make or change reservations and obtain tickets in a one-stop contract with Air Canada. To work the ASTAC system, the enRoute credit card holder inserts the card into the credit card reader. The card is validated and telephone contact is established between the passenger and an agent in the local reservations office. Now the transaction is carried out. The completed tickets are printed and the passenger's account is billed. Then, the ticket hopper door is unlocked and passengers are able to obtain their tickets.
