ROD FEED [6 records]

Record 1 2008-02-26

English

Subject field(s)
  • Presses (Machinery)
  • Pharmaceutical Manufacturing
CONT

On single-punch machines, the mixture is fed into one tablet mold(called a die cavity) by a feed shoe, as follows :-The feed shoe passes over the die cavity and releases the mixture. The feed shoe then retracts and scrapes all excess mixture away from the die cavity.-A punch-a short steel rod-the size of the die cavity descends into the die, compressing the mixture into a tablet. The punch then retracts, while a punch below the die cavity rises into the cavity and ejects the tablet.-As the feed shoe returns to fill the die cavity again, it pushes the compressed tablet from the die platform.

CONT

The first round is positioned in line with the chamber and is held in position by the cartridge stop and cartridge guide pawl. On trigger squeeze, the nose of the sear is depressed thus freeing the piston rod extension. The driving spring rod assembly pushes the working parts forward. The feed horn strikes the base of the round. The bolt strips the round from the belt link.

Comminution of ore in aqueous suspension; typically practised in the ball milling of finely crushed rock.

CONT

In some cement plants and many mining operations, ball, tube, rod, and pebble mills operate wet, water being added with the feed and the product being discharged as a slurry. Rake or cone type classifiers are used in closed circuits that employ wet grinding.

Usually a small rod or other device that protrudes or is raised when a cartridge is chambered and the breech mechanism is in battery, e. g. the extractor of a Luger pistol, or when a cartridge is in the feed system, e. g. the Belgian MINIMI LMG cartridge indicator. See also "cocking indicator".

Subject field(s)
  • Radio Transmission and Reception
OBS

The Rohde & Schwarz active rod antenna HE010 allows a sensitivity which is near the theoretical maximum even for small atmospheric-noise figures. The antenna, only 1 m in length, operates in the frequency range 10 KHz to 80 MHz, is largely immune to noise signals, has two isolated outputs and is therefore able to feed two receiving paths in wideband operation without reducing the sensitivity. The study mechanical construction of glassfibre-reinforced polyester and the wide voltage range from 18 to 35 V make the rod antenna particularly suitable for mobile use.

  • Émission et réception radio
OBS
