A ram accelerator is a gun that utilizes ramjet compression to accelerate a projectile to extremely high speeds. In a normal ramjet, air is compressed for combustion between a spike-shaped ram and an outer casing. In a ram accelerator, a similar shaped ram is fired(often from a conventional gun) into the accelerator barrel, causing compression between the projectile and the barrel' s walls. The barrel contains a fuel-air mixture. As the ram compresses the mixture, it is ignited behind it. In a typical ram accelerator design, thin membranes designed to be easily punctured by the ram wall off sections of the barrel. Each section is filled with a different fuel-air mixture chosen so that later sections have higher speeds of sound. As such, the ram can be maintained at optimal speeds of mach 3–5(relative to the mixture that it travels through) during its entire acceleration period. 2, record 3, English, - ram%20accelerator

Thermoacoustics is the study of the thermoacoustic effect and the attempt to harness the effect as a useful heat engine. A thermoacoustic refrigerator uses the thermoacoustic effect to move heat with sound. … Thermoacoustic refrigerators … use inert gasses which are both readily available, inexhaustible, and completely environmentally benign! And, because they can utilize waste heat as an energy source, they are extremely environmentally friendly. In addition, since thermoacoustic refrigerators do not use the compressors, lubricants, sliding seals, and other gizmos present in vapor compression refrigerators, the thermoacoustic refrigerator should be more reliable. In fact, a heat driven refrigerator does not need any moving parts in the refrigeration cycle! Finally, since thermoacoustic systems tend to work at higher frequencies and at single frequencies, noise and vibration control is actually easier than for a conventional refrigerator-so thermoacoustic refrigerators should be even quieter than the refrigerators of today. 1, record 5, English, - thermoacoustic%20refrigerator

A compression limiter is not necessary, but very recommended if you are recording live audio to tape or to sound card samples. It is a separate piece much like an effects unit. It is used and connected usually directly in the path between instruments or microphones to your recording equipment. It auto adjusts the recording levels into your mixer or sound recording gear so that you cannot overload the record inputs. It also boosts the soft sounds so they do not get lost and hard to hear. It makes the soft strings or vocals audible as well as keeping those blazing guitars from over running the rest of your sounds. 1, record 9, English, - compression%20limiter
