The Austoft 7000 harvester is a chopper harvester with a cleaning system. This harvester is used to cut green cane(with leaves). It cuts one row of cane at a time. The cane is fed between the crop dividers and cut at the root zone by base cutter blades. The cane is then fed through the roller train and is cut by the chopper drums into small cane pieces of 10 to 12".... In ideal conditions, the harvester can cut nearly 400 tonnes of sugarcane per day.

Polyacrylamide(PAM) is a man-made compound that when added to irrigation water in very small amounts can dramatically reduce soil erosion in row crops.... PAM and Surge Irrigation. Higher soil infiltration rates may increase leaching below the root zone due to PAM application. In turn, surge irrigation can help to reduce excessive soil infiltration. Therefore, PAM applications can be combined with surge irrigation to both reduce vertical infiltration and soil erosion substantially.

Drip Irrigation.... Water is delivered in small quantities under low pressure directly to... the root zone of the plants. You’ll need 1/2 inch polyethylene header pipe, and a roll of thin tape-like porous tubing. The header pipe connects to a garden hose and routes water through the garden. The pipe is placed either down the center or along one end of the garden. Small puncture holes are then made with a screwdriver into the header pipe at intervals corresponding to garden row. Eight-to ten-inch pieces of rubber connecting hose are then inserted into these holes. The other end of the connecting hose attaches to a length of porous tape. This tape is rolled out along each vegetable bed and cut to the same length as the row. Then end of the tape is then crimped to prevent water loss when the system is in use. Porous irrigation tape is best placed about three to four inches away from the base of the plants.

Line drilling : In this method regular rockdrill holes, about 11/2 inches in diameter, are spaced 4 to 6 inches apart along the perimeter and left uncharged. Larger diameter holes could be placed at greater spacing intervals. The buffer zone between the perimeter holes and the last row of main round holes should be about 8 to 12 inches wide(the buffer distance). The drilled unloaded holes along the periphery alone provide a plane of weakness to which the rock will break readily and cleanly when the round is fired.
