La vache qui a réagi [au traitement hormonal] sera si possible amenée dans une station de transfert d'embryons pour le rinçage de l'utérus. Si les conditions locales le permettent, la récolte des embryons peut aussi être effectuée chez le propriétaire de la bête. Le rinçage dure entre une à deux heures. Un tuyau de caoutchouc fin et stérile, raidi par un fil de fer, sera poussé par le vagin et le col étroit de l'utérus dans une des cornes utérines.
