2, record 5, French, - bact%C3%A9riorhodopsine

Signal reception. Most signal receptors are plasma membrane proteins. The signal protein matches the shape of a specific site on the receptor protein. The signal protein acts as ligand, a small protein that specifically binds to large one. The binding of the signal protein causes a conformational change in the receptor protein, which in turn can now activate another molecule. Most signal proteins are water soluble and too large to pass through the plasma membrane. 2, record 12, English, - signal%20protein

C4 binding protein is a heptameric molecule with a spider-like configuration which circulates free in plasma. Sulfonamides are known to interfere with the plasma protein binding of numerous other drugs. These agents, in turn, may compete with the sulfonamides for available binding sites. The net result depends on the relative concentrations of the agents involved and their binding affinities; but, in theory, the plasma level of free sulfonamide or other drug may be altered, with enhancement of its action or toxicity, whenever a sulfonamide is used concurrently with another agent that is markedly protein-bound. 1, record 23, English, - protein%2Dbound
