The Centre for Marine Simulation (CMS) is an operational unit of the School of Maritime Studies at the Marine Institute in St. John's, Newfoundland. The Centre started its operation in April 1994. The Centre uses these facilities to provide a broad range of simulation-based training and applied research services in ship navigation, marine engineering and ship communications. Through simulation-based training and education, in a realistic but controlled environment, CMS develops and improves operational efficiency and ability to handle emergency situations.
