The Interprovincial Standards Red Seal Program (also known as the Red Seal Program) was established more than 50 years ago to provide greater mobility across Canada for skilled workers. The Program acknowledges their competence and ensures recognition of their certification throughout Canada without further examination. The Red Seal Program is recognized as the interprovincial standard of excellence in the skilled trades. Le Programme des normes interprovinciales Sceau rouge (qu'on appelle aussi le programme du Sceau rouge) a été créé il y a plus de 50 ans afin de permettre une plus grande mobilité des travailleurs spécialisés partout au Canada. Par l'entremise du programme, les personnes de métier peuvent obtenir une mention « Sceau rouge » sur leur certificat d'aptitude professionnelle provincial ou territorial lorsqu'elles réussissent l'examen interprovincial du Sceau rouge. Le Programme des normes interprovinciales Sceau rouge assure la reconnaissance de leurs compétences et de leur certificat d'aptitude professionnelle à travers le Canada sans qu'elles ne doivent subir d'autres examens. Le programme du Sceau rouge est reconnu comme la norme d'excellence interprovinciale dans les métiers spécialisés.
