This program has been made possible through a funding partnership with Human Resources Development Canada (HRDC). Aboriginal people interested in a career with the RCMP who do not meet the basic entrance requirements, but otherwise would be suitable candidates are enrolled as cadets on the ACDP. Following a three week assessment period at Depot Division in Regina, Saskatchewan, the cadets return to a detachment in their home area (usually) with a program designed to assist them to address identified shortcomings. The cadets receive an allowance, and have up to two years to attain the basic entrance requirements; once successful they proceed to Regina to undergo basic cadet training. As soon as a cadet enters basic training, she/he is no longer on the ACDP. 1, record 4, English, - Aboriginal%20Cadet%20Development%20Program
