1. Make a loop of cord using a double fisherman's knot-for use on 9 mm ropes ... 2. Wind the loop four times round the rope making sure that the double fisherman's is kept clear. 3a. For a French Prusik/Autoblock, clip a karabiner into both ends. This version is best when you don't want the knot to jam at all except when heavily loaded, e.g., when abseiling. It is not a good knot for prusiking as if grabbed it will release and slide. 5, record 1, English, - French%20Prusik

The autoblock knot, also called a French Prusik knot, is an easy-to-tie and versatile friction knot that is used as a safety back-up knot on a rappel rope. The knot is tied on the rope below the rappel device and then attached to the climber’s harness through a carabiner on a leg loop or the belay loop. 2, record 1, English, - French%20Prusik

5, record 1, French, - n%26oelig%3Bud%20autobloquant%20Machard

Locking carabiners are generally stronger than nonlocking because the gate area is reinforced by a threaded screw lock. The threads are covered by the screw lock to prevent accidental fraying of webbing. Locking carabiners offer more security than nonlocking ones and are commonly used for belaying or for setting up top-rope climbs. 1, record 3, English, - locking%20carabiner

4, record 3, French, - mousqueton%20de%20s%C3%A9curit%C3%A9

The Twistlock concept is unique and represent a major advance in locking Karabiners. Use it wherever you would use a Screwgate Karabiner, i.e. on harnesses main belays, cosmic arrester, abseiling, etc. The twistlock action gives total security at all times. You cannot forget to lock the karabiner. The revolving ferrule not only locks the karabiner at the danger points, i.e. (a) where the gate opens, (b) at the hinge pin, but ensures that the ferrule cannot revolve until the gate is closed. 1, record 4, English, - twistlock%20karabiner
