A tennis match considered won by a player as a result of the disqualification of his or her opponent. 3, record 2, English, - walkover
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 OBS
Disqualification can be caused by many factors, among others, tardiness, absentia, etc. Compare with "retire", term used in the perspective of the loser. By extension, the term "walkover" has also come to mean an uncontested victory by the opponent of a disqualified player or, what is worse, sarcastically, an easy victory by one player over another in a match that was not forfeited. These usages should be discouraged in order to contain the number of concepts associated with this term. 4, record 2, English, - walkover

Record number: 4, Textual support number: 1 OBS
2, record 4, French, - vitesse%20exprim%C3%A9e%20en%20grandeur%20scalaire
Record number: 4, Textual support number: 2 OBS

THE EARLIER METHODS for the production of negatives on glass permitted only exposures on paper or glass plates of small size, and enlargements were made from them on paper, linen, glass, and so forth. The photographic papers and the other materials had only a limited light-sensitivity; for this reason enlarging cameras were used with direct sunlight and were called "solar cameras". 1, record 16, English, - enlarging%20camera

En effet, à la p. 393 de la source anglaise citée ci-dessus on peu lire que "The solar camera later disappeared entirely from the photographic industry and was replaced by enlarging cameras with arc lamps. Owing to the increased sensitivity of the silver bromide papers, other sources of artificial light, still weaker, could be used. " 1, record 16, French, - chambre%20d%26rsquo%3Bagrandissement
