An oxidative bleaching stage often in the third stage of a CEH or CdEH arrangement, where the active component is sodium or calcium hypochlorite in an alkaline medium. The brightening is achieved by destructive oxidation of the lignin, and the continuous presence of the alkali leads to the solution of the reaction products, thus opening deeper layers of lignin in the fibre to further attack. 2, record 1, English, - hypochlorite%20bleaching

1, record 1, French, - blanchiment%20%C3%A0%20l%27hypochlorite
