«transformation» : Action de transformer, [de faire passer d'une forme à une autre, de donner un autre aspect, d'autres caractères formels à], opération par laquelle on transforme. Faire des transformations dans une maison. Alors que le terme anglais ne s'applique qu'aux bâtiments, "remodelage" est couramment utilisé, en France, en parlant des quartiers et des villes aussi bien que d'un immeuble isolé. De création assez récente (v. 1963), ce terme est peu répandu au Canada. Moins spécifique, le terme "transformation" réfère d'abord aux changements d'aspect ou de forme, mais l'usage lui accorde un sens très large qui englobe entre autres, les notions de "conversion" et de "modernisation". 1, record 5, French, - remodelage
