Constitué en 2004, le Réseau québécois d'urgences pour les mammifères marins regroupe les organismes et institutions au Québec qui interviennent auprès des mammifères marins. Il a pour mandat d'organiser, de coordonner et de mettre en œuvre des mesures visant à réduire les mortalités accidentelles de mammifères marins, à secourir des mammifères marins en difficulté et à favoriser l'acquisition de connaissances auprès des animaux morts, échoués ou à la dérive, dans les eaux du Saint-Laurent limitrophes du Québec.
