Tumeur dérivant du segment tricholemmal isthmique, le tricholemmome ressemble cliniquement à une verrue ou une petite corne cutanée de la face, du cuir chevelu ou du tronc. Histologiquement, c'est une tumeur pleine constituée de lobules de grandes cellules claires très riches en glycogène; ces lobules sont connectés à l'épiderme et les cellules périphériques à disposition palissadique sont doublées d'une épaisse membrane vitrée analogue à celle qui double normalement la gaine épithéliale externe dans sa partie profonde ou proximale.
