Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 DEF
Phenomenon similar in formation to a tornado, but with the funnel forming over an ocean or occasionally over an inland lake emerges from the base of cumulonimbus clouds, frequently clouds that have been swept off an adjacent land area. 4, record 1, English, - water%2Dspout
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 CONT
Tornadoes occasionally form over warm water. Because of the high moisture content of the air, the funnels are heavily laden with water drops, so that they look somewhat like a stream of water pouring from the cloud base. They are called, for this reason, waterspouts. 5, record 1, English, - water%2Dspout
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 2 CONT
Waterspouts form over (or move across) the coastal waters or intracoastal waters and become a hazard for small craft. They are treated as tornadoes over water. There are two type of waterspouts: "fair weather" and "tornadic". 6, record 1, English, - water%2Dspout

5, record 1, French, - trombe%20marine
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 2 CONT
6, record 1, French, - trombe%20marine
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 OBS
3, record 1, French, - trombe%20marine
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 2 OBS
