Remote-sensing systems that operate VIS-NIR [visible, near-infrared] range typically include three channels that approximate the response of the human eye, and afford the opportunity to construct RGB [red-green-blue] composite image that resembles natural colour. Unfortunately, when displayed, many such images appear to have mostly tones of gray … Contrast stretching may help, but the colours tend to be far less saturated than we are accustomed to when observing or photographing in the field. Besides trying standard stretches, [there is] another way to enhance natural colour … The results of enhancing images to bring out colour are highly dependent on the nature of landscape and the image measurements.

As a step toward developing the capabilities of this type of x-ray microscopy, a tantalum x-ray laser at a 44. 83-angstrom wavelength was used together with an x-ray zone plate optic to image both unlabeled and selectively gold-labeled dried rat sperm nuclei. In the image, 500-angstrom features are clearly visible. This illustrates the importance of x-ray microscopy in determining chemical composition. X-ray microscopy also provides information about the uniformity of sperm chromatin organization and the extent of sperm chromatin hydration.

Lorsque nous transposerons ces nombres en images via l'ordinateur, la couleur des prairies sera différente de celle des forêts. Parfois, la différence est telle que les valeurs IR mesurées sur des arbres feuillus malades diffèrent de celles mesurées sur les arbres sains.

In an interferogram, coherence is a measure of correlation. It can serve as a measure of the quality. [It gives information] as to the surface type(vegetated vs. rock) or [to an] otherwise invisible change that has occurred in the image [visible only in the phase image of an interferogram].

Pour éviter des déformations géométriques dans les angles des écrans des micro-ordinateurs, l'image n'occupe qu'environ 90 % de la surface du tube cathodique. Le format informatique de l'image est donc plus petit que le format de balayage vidéo de l'écran. Predominantly green colouration of short duration, often in the form of a flash, seen at the extreme upper edge of a luminary (Sun, Moon, or even a planet) when disappearing below or appearing above the horizon.

When the sun sets, sometimes the last bit of light from the disk itself is an emerald green. The same is true of the first bit of light from the rising sun. This phenomenon is known as the "green flash" or "green ray". It is not an optical illusion. The green flash is common and will be visible any time the sun is rises or sets on a "clear", "unobstructed", and "low" horizon.... The explanation for the green flash is thus, 1) refraction separates the solar images by color; 2) at just the right instant, the red image has set, 3) the yellow image is absorbed; and 4) the blue image is scattered away. We are left with the upper limb of the green image. Because the green flash is primarily a refraction effect, it lasts longer and is easier to see from a mountain top than from sea level.

Comment cela se passe-t-il? La réfraction du Soleil par l'atmosphère crée un spectre vertical. Au fur et à mesure que le soleil descend sous l'horizon, les couleurs spectrales disparaissent une à une à commencer par le rouge, l'orangé, puis le jaune. Quand ces 3 couleurs sont disparues, quelques fois, à peine le temps d'un éclair, la seule couleur qui reste visible est le vert.

Satellite image.... The most common is the infrared image which indicates the temperature of the cloud tops(or the land or sea in cloud free areas). Visible images are also used, but are only useful during daylight hours. Infrared images are most commonly used as they can be taken through night-time hours.

CONT

These images come from satellites which remain above a fixed point on the Earth(ie. they are "geostationary"). The infrared picture shows the same view but looking at a part of the spectrum which our eyes do not detect. The infrared pictures allow us to measure the temperature of the cloud tops, which can be used to determine their height. The whiter clouds are colder than the greyer clouds in this image. Infrared images can be recorded 24 hours a day. Visible pictures can only be made during daylight hours.
