The Agri-food Management Institute(AMI) promotes new ways of thinking about agribusiness management and aims to increase awareness, understanding and adoption of beneficial business management practices by Ontario agri-food and agri-based producers and processors. AMI develops business management tools, information, resources, and training for agri-food and agri-based producers, processors, and their business advisors. L’Institut de gestion agroalimentaire (IGA) fait la promotion de nouvelles approches quant à la gestion d’entreprise agricole. L’IGA vise à accroître la sensibilisation et la compréhension à l’égard des pratiques de gestion d’entreprise avantageuses, tout en favorisant leur adoption chez les producteurs et transformateurs agricoles et agroalimentaires de l’Ontario. The Agricultural Research Institute of Ontario is a corporate body reporting directly to the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. It was created by the ARIO Act(in 1962) with the following specific duties :-to inquire into problems of research with respect to agriculture, veterinary medicine and consumer studies;-to select and recommend areas of research for the betterment of agriculture, veterinary medicine and consumer studies; and-to stimulate interest in research as a means of developing in Ontario a high degree of efficiency in the production and marketing of agricultural products. The Agriculture and Food Council was formed in 1993 to champion the Creating Tomorrow vision and goals. Made up of representatives from all links in the agri-food industry value-chain the Council is a catalyst to help Alberta's agri-food sector : Increase Alberta's share of world food, agriculture and agribusiness markets; Improve sustainable resource and environmental management; and Expand the vision, competency and quality of life of people in the industry. The AFC has three core programs to support their goals : The Canada Agriculture Rural Adaptation Fund(CARD), The Value Chain Strategic Initiative, and Growing Alberta-a public awareness program. Funding is provided to AFC from Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada's $60 million per year Canadian Adaptation and Rural Development(CARD) Fund. Le Agriculture and Food Council (AFC) a vu le jour en 1993 et a reçu pour mandat de réaliser la vision et les objectifs de Creating Tomorrow. Constitué de représentants de toutes les composantes de la chaîne de valeur du secteur agroalimentaire, le Conseil joue le rôle de catalyseur pour le secteur agroalimentaire albertain : élargir la part que détient l'Alberta sur les marchés mondiaux des produits alimentaires et agricoles et de l'agrinégoce; améliorer la gestion des ressources et de l'environnement; élargir les horizons, les compétences et la qualité de vie des membres du secteur. Le AFC applique trois programmes principaux dans la poursuite de ses objectifs : le Fonds d'adaptation rurale et agricole du Canada (FCADR), la Value Chain Strategic Initiative et Growing Alberta, programme de sensibilisation publique. Il tire les fonds nécessaires à son fonctionnement du FCADR (Fonds canadien d'adaptation et de développement rural) d'Agriculture et Agroalimentaire Canada, qui est doté d'un budget de 60 millions de dollars par année.
